SGA maintains an Order of Merit (OOM) for all local SGA organised or sanctioned events. The OOM tracks players based on their performance over a rolling twelve-month period (1 January to 31 December).

1. There are four divisions in the OOM: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Boys’ Under 17 (as of 1 Jan 2021), Girls’ Under 17 (as of 1 Jan 2021).

2. All Singaporeans who participate in the selected events will be eligible to earn OOM points.

3. A Current Ranking Order, based on points accumulated over a rolling three-month period, will also be monitored to track current performance of players.

4. In addition to points, stroke average will also be tracked and if points are similar, stroke average will apply.

5. The Order of Merit will be computed according to the total number of points that have been accumulated in a calendar year over a rolling twelve-month period.  The list will be updated at the beginning of each month.  All tournaments up to the end of the preceding month will be captured.  Tournaments that begin in a month and end outside that month will be captured in the following month.

Use of OOM

6. The OOM will be considered to select SGA squad members for tournaments in 2021.

7. Major games/elite team events (eg. SEA Games) will have a separate set of selection policies.

8. The OOM will be considered for mid-year SGA squad reviews and for the selection of 2022 National/Development/Junior Squads.

National Ranking Games

9. SGA conducts National Ranking Games as part of the SGA Order of Merit counting events for members of its National, Development and Junior Squads.  The NRGs also provide non-SGA squad players an opportunity to demonstrate their ability and potential.

10. There are six NRGs in 2021. It is compulsory for SGA Squad members to participate unless supported by valid reasons. Non-SGA Squad members must meet the following criteria to participate:

-Must be Singapore citizens;

-Must have a USGA Handicap Index of < 8.0 (boys) and < 10.0 (girls)

Note: The Handicap Index scoring records must not have any penalty scores.

Point Calculation

11. Point values vary depending on the category of the event. The categories are based on field strength and importance of tournament. There are 3 categories for local events.

12. Tied Scores receive position points added together and divided by number of positions.

13. The SGA Training & Development committee reserves the right to amend the calendar and categories of the selected events.
