Chen Xingtong matched her opening round efforts with another four-over-par 76 after the second round of this week’s HSBC Women’s World Championship. While her two-day total of eight-over-par 152 has left her in 60th place, what made it another memorable day for our national squad member was being able to play alongside former World No. 1 Lydia Ko.

“Today was just a lot more consistent, like yesterday, I had a lot of double bogeys on the first nine and I played really well on the second nine. I made a few silly mistakes here and there today. I mean, I didn’t really play that well so I’m not exactly pleased with my score today. But I guess everyone has their off-weeks too.
I was playing with Lydia today, and realise just how she calms down from everything. She’s able to recover from bad shots and I learned a lot by playing from her. We talked a bit in the last few holes, yeah.
For the next two days, I just want to keep it consistent and play better than the previous days. Hopefully I’ll be able to qualify for this tournament again next year because it’s really a great experience. The course is great and the field is very strong.
I definitely want to qualify again.”
