Singapore – The Singapore Golf Association (SGA) held its annual fundraising golf day on Monday (30 August) at Keppel Club, raising more than $145,000 for SGA’s high-performance program which is dedicated to developing national golfers. The donations will also be matched dollar-for-dollar through the One Team Singapore Fund.
There were a total of more than 130 donors and guests who enjoyed a round of golf at Keppel Club, including Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen, who was the guest of honour for the event. All golfers adhered to the necessary safe management measures which included staggered arrival and safe distancing throughout the day.
Hole-in-one and lucky draw prizes were up for grabs and mementos were presented to the host club and guest of honour.
Fundraiser organising chairman and club captain of Keppel Club Ng Luo Yi said “We are pleased to have successfully organised the fundraising golf day despite the limited novelty events due to strict implementation of safe managementmeasures.”
“We would like to sincerely thank all donors and supporters for their generosity towards SGA’s efforts in developing future champions. Our national golfers remain motivated and have been training hard to represent Singapore at major competitions. SGA will also continue our efforts to grow the game amongst the community and introduce them to this game of a lifetime.” said Ross Tan, SGA President.
