February 28: Junior golfers were treated to an hour-long clinic conducted by LPGA legend, Hall of Famer and a 10-time Major champion, Annika Sörenstam before the HSBC Women’s World Championship tees off on Thursday. National squad member Chen Xingtong, together with SGA professionals, Amanda Tan and Koh Sock Hwee were also at the driving range at the Senotsa Golf Club to share their knowledge of golf to the aspiring junior golfers.
Chen, who won the national qualifying tournament to earn her place at the prestigious event, will be part of the elite field that features 15 out of the world’s top 20 and all the reigning major champions. The 15-year-old will tee off her opening round alongside Sarah Schmeizel of the United States and Emily Kristine Pedersen of Denmark at 10.25am.
