December 21 —Singapore Golf Association (SGA) professional, Gregory Foo earned his playing status on the Asian Tour after finishing in tied-19th to secure one of the 35 cards on offer for the 2026 season.
Foo signed off with an even-par 71 for a tournament total of six-under-par, after carding previous rounds of 66, 70, 72, 70 in the five-round Qualifying School held at the Lake View Resort & Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand.
Playing primarily on the China Golf Tour this season, Foo has enjoyed three top-10s in the Middle Kingdom, but his success in the coastal town of Thailand this week is a validation of his perseverance and self-belief.
“It (securing his Tour card) really means so much to me. This is my sixth attempt at the Asian Tour Qualifying School. So,to finally qualify for the first time feels fantastic, and I’m so excited to go out there and compete next year,” said Foo.
“It’s definitely been very challenging at times during the 2025 season. I did have some good finishes on the China Tour to secure my card, but I was also quite disappointed that I didn’t play well at some of the bigger tournaments when I did get some starts on the Asian Tour, as well as a couple of the DP World Tour events in China.
“I also missed out at the third stage of Japan Tour Qualifying School recently. So, getting through Asian Tour QualifyingSchool really was a big confidence booster for me.”
When asked about his goals for 2026, Foo said: “My main goals for 2026 would be to continue improving as a player and be able to retain my playing status on the Asian Tour as well as win my first–ever professional Tour event.”
Foo will join fellow SGA professional James Leow on the Asian Tour next season. Leow had earlier secured one of the 2026 Asian Tour cards reserved for the top-10 merit finishers on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) with his win at the Aramco Invitational Tournament.
