Ex-national team member Koh Sock Hwee, has received a sponsor invite from EFG to participate at the EFG Hong Kong Ladies Open held at the Hong Kong Golf Club Old Course in Fanling from 9 to 11 June 2017.
After making the switch to professional golf in Feb 2016, Sock Hwee has reached a major milestone in her career with the qualification for China LPGA in March earlier this year. Prior to that, Sock Hwee is already a full member of the Taiwan LPGA having qualified in November 2016, and will now have access to participate in two of the toughest golfing tours in Asia that has produced world class players playing currently competing on the LPGA such as Yani Tseng and Feng Shanshan.
As Sock Hwee continues to chase Rolex World Ranking points, the sponsor invite from EFG represents the first in 2017 for Sock Hwee and she will be competing with the likes of home favourite and defending champion Tiffany Chan Tsz-ching, as well as other seasoned pros such as Shi Yu Ting of China, Kuo Ai-Chen of Taiwan, Sharmila Nicollet of India, Korea’s Hwang Ye-Nah and Thailand’s Saranporn Langkulgasettrin.
Sock Hwee, who has been working hard on her game, is thrilled to receive the invitation from EFG and shares that “it is a testimony of the hard work and dedication that I have been putting into my game. I am excited to be given an opportunity to play at one of the best tournaments in the region. I hope I can put this invitation to good use and perform well in Hong Kong.”
Amanda Tan, team mates with Sock Hwee during their national team days, is also a participant of the EFG Hong Kong Ladies Open, and we would like to wish them all the best and fly the Singapore flag high!
