Singapore, April, 18: The Singapore Golf Association (SGA) is pleased to announce that BFG Golf has been named the Presenting Partner of the Singapore Junior Golf Championship (SJGC), reinforcing a shared commitment to developing the next generation of golfers.
The tournament will officially be titled the Singapore Junior Golf Championship (SJGC) presented by BFG Golf.
The 2026 edition of the SJGC will be held at Keppel Club from June 10–12, 2026. Entries are open to boys and girls aged 11 to 17 (as at January 1, 2026), with a valid WHS Handicap Index of 14.0 or lower for boys and 16.0 or lower for girls (as at April 1, 2026).
The championship will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play. A cut will be made after 36 holes, with the top 60% of the overall boys’ and girls’ fields — and subsequently the top 60% within each age group — advancing to the final round. The field will be capped at 100 participants.
For the first time in the championship’s history, prize money will be awarded to the individual boys’ and girls’ champions as well as the team winners to support their development in the game. The overall boys’ champion will also earn a coveted spot in the country’s national Open in 2027, which is also SGA’s commitment to pipeline development.
Thailand’s Ajalawich Anantasethakul claimed the A Division Boys’ title in 2025, while Singapore’s Chen Xingtong emerged as the A Division Girls’ champion. Past champions of the SJGC include Chinese Taipei’s Lee Chieh-Po, who won the title in 2012. Lee won the LIV Golf promotions in 2024 and is now a regular on the Asian Tour, where he won the International Series Thailand.
The SJGC remains a cornerstone of Singapore’s player development pathway, offering junior golfers valuable competitive exposure. The championship will continue to attract strong international participation, with SGA extending invitations to players across ASEAN and the Asia-Pacific through its network of national golf associations.
Joshua Ho, CEO of SGA, said: “We are delighted to welcome BFG Golf as the presenting partner of the Singapore Junior Golf Championship. BFG Golf has been a valued partner of SGA since 2023, playing an instrumental role in strengthening our junior development efforts.
“Through this collaboration, we have grown our junior programme to over 30 events annually for golfers under 14 years old. This latest partnership for the SJGC represents an enhancement of our collaboration and shared commitment, and we are confident it will further elevate the championship and continue to create meaningful opportunities for junior golfers.”
Lawrence Ng, Co-Founder of BFG Golf, added: “We are proud to partner with the Singapore Golf Association in supporting the next generation of golfers. The Singapore Junior Golf Championship provides an excellent platform for young talents to develop and compete, and we, along with our other strategic partners in CWJPGA and Sports Journey, look forward to contributing to its continued success.”
“This partnership underscores SGA’s and BFG Golf’s continued efforts to strengthen Singapore’s junior golf ecosystem, creating more opportunities and clearer pathways for young athletes to progress to the highest levels of the sport.
The groundbreaking 2024 SGA-BFG Junior Golf Series was launched in 2024 to provide a platform for junior players to showcase their skills and compete against peers of similar age and ability.
