Storm and Tan spearhead local charge at Singapore Junior Golf Championship presented by BFG Golf

SGA National squad member Troy Storm set the early pace in the A Boys Division by taking the first round with five-under-par 67 on countback at the Singapore Junior Golf Championship presented by BFG Golf on Wednesday.

Thailand’s Settawut Kenanan carded an identical 67 to end the opening day at Keppel Club in second place, while compatriot Takrit Supagonchoowong is two shots back in third place.

China’s Chen Lixuan leads the B Division Boys with a 76 on countback while Singapore’s Lee Seunghan is in second place after mixing his card with six bogeys and two birdies.

In the A Division Girls, Thailand’s Wirada Tawinsang holds a one -shot lead over Singapore’s Amelie Ng with a 69, while Temperance Tan leads the B Division Girls by three shots after signing for a 68.

For the first time in the tournament’s history, prize money will be awarded to the individual boys’ and girls’ champions, as well as the winning teams, to further support junior player development. The overall boys’ champion will also earn a coveted spot in the 2027 Singapore Open, subject to eligibility requirements.
