July 4: Singapore’s Chen Xingtong and Enrique Dimayuga of the Philippines maintained their pole position atop the leaderboard after carding rounds of 75 and 70 respectively in the ladies and male division at the 76th Singapore Open Amateur Championship on Thursday.
Chen ran out with an outward 40, marked by two birdies, four bogeys and a double-bogey at the Orchid Country Club. She then steadied the ship in her inward-nine with two birdies on holes 12 and 14 at the Dendro course.
The 15-year-old will head into the final round with a four-shot lead over closest rival, Hei Tung Leung of Hong Kong, China, who returned with a 73.
Dimayuga, meanwhile, charged further ahead with three birdies on holes one, four and seven to turn in 33. He continued his birdie run on holes 11 and 16 before two bogeys on 17 and 18 saw him finish the round with a three-under-par 70 and a two-shot advantage over Australia’s Max Ford.
