Chen Xingtong flew the Singapore flag high after emerging victorious with her wire-to-wire triumph at the 48th Peugeot Selangor Amateur Open golf championship on Friday.
Chen carded rounds of 73, 72 and 69 to win the 54-hole championship by 14 shots over Wang Xin Yao of Malaysia and also her first victory abroad at Kelab Golf Negara Subang (KGNS) in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
It’s been an up and down year, so to be able to have my first international win here in Malaysia is an honour,” said Chen.
“My putting has been good in recent weeks and I’m still working on the consistency of my game,” added the 15-year-old.
