Storm emerges as division winner at Hong Kong Junior Open
Hong Kong, August 10: Troy Storm signed off from this week’s Hong Kong Junior Open with a one-over-par 73 to finish in outright third place in the overall boys’ division- one shot behind local champion Michael Yuen, who defeated compatriot Brandler Luke in a playoff for the title on Thursday.
While Storm narrowly missed out on the playoff for the overall division winner, the 14-year, however, still emerged as the division winner for the 13-14 category after he compiled rounds of 71, 70 and 73 for a three-day total of two-under-par 214 at the Discovery Bay Golf Club.
Ethan Lim shared overall fourth place with Sze Pak Hin and Chan Yin Hang from Hong Kong, China after closing with a 77 for a 228 total while Bruce Kwong ended his week in a share of 11th place after signing for a 74.
16-year-old Valencia Chang, meanwhile, was the highest-placed Singaporean in the overall girls’ division after she carded rounds of 75,75 and 84 for a 234 total to finish in fifth place- 11 shots behind champion, Michelle Wong from Hong Kong, China.
Chen Xing Tong closed with a 81 to take seventh place while Aamiya Koul’s two-day scores of 77 and 78 saw her finish second behind Alanna Tee from Hong Kong, China with her 155 total in the 11-12 division.
