SGA Fundraiser A Success

The SGA Fundraiser 2017 was held yesterday at the beautiful Raffles County Club Lake Course, where more than 200 esteemed guests, sponsors and friends were present to support the game they love.  The Singapore Golf Association raised more than $400K for junior development and elite golf training.

Guest of Honour, ESM Goh Chok Tong’s arrival was welcomed by members the Junior Squad, members of SGA board and volunteers from The Singapore Ladies Golf Association.

‘The Longest Drive’ and ‘Beat the Juniors’ were some of the novelty events on course that allowed SGA to showcase their budding talents and enabled donors to meet and play with the SEA Games gold medallists as well.

Unfortunately, the Tournament was cancelled due to inclement weather.

ESM Goh Chok Tong SGA, Governing Council Chairman Mr Khoo Boon Hui, Singapore Sport Institute chief Mr Toh Boon Yi, SGA President Mr Ross Tan along with Council and Board members were present at the dinner.

Tokens of appreciation were given to platinum sponsors and partners of SGA.

All present at dinner walked away with fabulous lucky draw prizes donated by generous sponsors.  Many walked away with more than one prize.

Diners were well entertained and continued to donate generously during dinner.

Organizing chairman Mrs Lyn Sen remarked that the golfing community and public will slowly come to realize that golf builds character and teaches valuable life skills to the young.  It is no longer a game for the privileged elite as the game is played by many aspiring golfers who do not belong to any members clubs.
