The storied Singapore Open, the nation’s national men’s professional title, will make its long-awaited return when it tees off at the New Course at Singapore Island Country Club from November 6-9, 2025.

Last played in 2022, the Singapore Open will be sanctioned by the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) and Asian Tour, with Kweichow Moutai coming on board as the new title sponsor in 2025.

The Moutai Singapore Open boasts a lucrative prize purse of US$2 million and will be part of The International Series – 10 premier events on the Asian Tour that boast elevated prize money and provide a pathway to the LIV Golf League.

Inaugurated in 1961, the Singapore Open was part of Asia’s very first professional golf circuit, which comprised a handful of tournaments in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia and Japan.

It will return to the venue where the tournament was first played in 1961 until 1987. Since its inauguration, the Singapore Open has grown in stature to become one of the most prestigious championships in Asia with an illustrious list of champions including the late Kyi Hla Han (1994), Adam Scott (2005, 2006, 2010), Jeev Milkha Singh (2008), Ian Poulter (2009), Sergio Garcia (2018), Matt Kuchar (2020).

The New Course at Singapore Island Country Club is expected to provide players with a stern test – just like what it has done for the field when it hosted the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific in 2023.

Tan Chong Huat, President of the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) said: “The Singapore Open is about to embark on an exciting new cycle and we are looking forward to working with our partners, the Asian Tour and Kweichow Moutai, to continue the legacy of our national open.”

“Our National Open is one of Singapore’s premier sporting events, and we are overjoyed it is returning to the calendar later this year with a dynamic new title sponsor at one of the country’s most acclaimed golfing venues, Singapore Island Country Club.”

Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO, Asian Tour commented: “The Singapore Open is an integral part of Asian Tour history and one of our most-prized tournaments – so we are thrilled it is returning to our schedule later this year. The story of the Singapore Open runs in parallel with that of the Tour’s and, in many respects, we have grown hand in hand.

“It is now set for another exciting new chapter, and we are eternally grateful to Kweichow Moutai for paving the way for the tournament’s return. They will be an ambitious partner who understand the importance of the Singapore Open past, present and future.

“Our thanks also go to the Singapore Golf Association and Singapore Island Country Club for helping to facilitate the return of this magnificent tournament. With it set to be staged during the all-important closing stretch of the season our members and fans in the region can look forward to a memorable climax.”

Ian Roberts, General Manager, Singapore Island Country Club added: “We are delighted to welcome the return of the Singapore Open to the venue where it all started in 1961. The Singapore Open has given fans, both locally and internationally many unforgettable memories, especially with the thrilling drama and action that have unfolded over the years.

We are confident our New course will provide the players with a stern test of golf while captivating fans again with another week of top class golf action.”
