SINGAPORE, 25 March 2021 – Singaporean golfer Choo Tze Huang has been crowned the winner of the first leg of the Singapore Pro Series Invitational presented by FTAG at the Sentosa Golf Club today. Coming in first on the leaderboard at the end of day 1 yesterday, Choo scored 72 today to finish at 1 under over two days.
Commenting on his victory, Choo said, “I am really happy with the win today and overall for the first leg of the Singapore Pro Series Invitational presented by FTAG. I have put in two very solid rounds and am pleased that my fitness regime and practice over the last few months have come to fruition.”
Jerome Ng, General Manager of the Singapore Golf Association, said, “We are pleased to kickstart the first leg of the Singapore Pro Series Invitational presented by FTAG at the Sentosa Golf Club. It is great to see the amateur and professional golfers test their nerves to compete for the winning prize. These events will prepare them for their tour events and major games to come. With the conclusion of the series opener, the second leg will commence again on 3 – 4 May at the Tanah Merah Country Club.
In total, 16 tournament days, or eight legs, have been scheduled for the inaugural season – where touring professionals, both male and female, and leading national amateurs will compete over two days (36 holes) for a S$10,600 prize fund.
Each leg will count towards the ‘Race to FTAG Cup’, where the winner of the Order of Merit will receive a bonus of S$10,000.
