After a hotly contested 4th and final round, Ryan Ang emerged as the champion of the Singapore Open Amateur Championship in the Men’s division holding off fellow National Squad player Justin Kuk and winning by two shots (75, 72, 74, 221). “It feels amazing to have won the 1st major amateur event of the year! To have triumphed over a strong field in such tough conditions”. He added that a combination of good ball striking and solid putting inside 6 feet really contributed to his success this week.
Fresh off her win at the recent National Ranking Game, Hailey went wire to wire with another victory at the Singapore Open Amateur Championship, signing off a 77 (75, 74, 77, 226) to win by 5 shots over Aloysa Atienza. This is her third win in as many events upon her return from the United States. “I had a consistent ball striking week all week and just kept trying to play to the best of my ability with a me vs the course mindset”. Hailey was able to draw upon her previous wins to close out the event on the very challenging Tampines course.
