Men’s

Singapore was represented by Hiroshi Tai, James Leow and Ryan Ang as they teed up among top amateur golfers from 70 other countries at the 32nd Eisenhower Trophy from 31 August to 3 September 2022.

Our Singapore Men’s team ended the Eisenhower Trophy in 21st position, after a 4-round team total of 565 (-7). This was Singapore’s best finish in the Eisenhower Trophy event since 2016.

Here are the results:

Individual results:

Hiroshi Tai – 71, 70, 74, 73

James Leow – 76, 70, 70, 72

Ryan Ang – 68, 73, 78, 70

“The men’s team was quite strong this year. All of them are great ball strikers and the courses in France demanded that from all players. They executed a strategy for each venue daily well enough to limit damage to the scoreboard which served them well during the week. Whilst this was Singapore’s best result in this event, I know the men were hungry to finish higher,” expressed Matt. “In the end a pleasing result for team Singapore managing to beat all Asian national teams except Japan. I am very proud of how they played as a team.”

Moving forward, Matt mentioned the team will switch focus to the Asian Amateur Championships (AAC) in Thailand this October and the Asia-Pacific Team Championship (Nomura cup) in the Philippines this November.

Women’s

Singapore was represented by Aloysa Atienza, Hailey Loh and Jaymie Ng as they teed up among top amateur golfers from 60 other countries at the 29th Espirito Santo Trophy from 24 August to 27 August 2022.

Our Singapore Women’s team ended the Espírito Santo Trophy in T38th position, after a 4-round team total of 613 (+41).

Here are the results:

Aloysa Atienza – 79, 81, 77, 76

Hailey Loh – 73, 78, 78, 75

Jaymie Ng – 75, 83, 79, 79

“Our girls team comprising of Hailey Loh, Aloysa Atienza and Jaymie Ng faced a couple of adversities this week,” said Matt. “Despite that, being placed in the 38th position is still a valiant achievement.”

A huge congratulation to the Italy men’s team for winning the 32nd Eisenhower Trophy and the Sweden female’s team for winning the 29th Espírito Santo Cup.
