The 2nd National Ranking Game (NRG) took place at Changi Golf Club from 13 June to 15 June. Our players battled through rainy conditions coupled with scorching heat throughout the three rounds. Due to inclement weather, the first round of NRG was abandoned.
Consistency is synonymous with Daryl Low, as the SGA National Squad player brilliantly claimed his second NRG win. Following closely behind him was Brayden Lee with a 72, 67 and Sean Pang with a 73, 69 and in third place.
“I was definitely feeling a lot of adrenaline and pressure coming down the last couple of holes especially with Brayden cutting in close but I am definitely still glad that I managed to close out the competition with a win,” expressed Daryl.
In the ladies’ division, SGA Development Squad member Chen Xingtong emerged as champion with a 73, 74 – an exceptional win for the fourteen year-old as she had just won the recent Singapore Junior Golf Championship’s B Division title. Junior Squad player Chloe Ng and National Squad player Shang Yu followed behind tied 72, 79.
Xingtong attributed her success to her efforts in strategising rounds and stabilising her swing before playing, which propelled her to win the title. She added, “I am glad I won, but there is still a lot I wish I had done better.”
SGA would like to congratulate all players of the NRG for a great game and Changi Golf Club for hosting the event! For full results , click here: https://sga-sgalocaltournamentcalendar.golfgenius.com/pages/8104569773150466521?fbclid=IwAR06TGUPE42MbjTzM25x_hgoKvmU1phXYqrKZdPE0jdzYJEOHHreLDrCpYI
