The Singapore Golf Association have sent a team of two Development squad members, Shayne Lim and Shang Yu to Dongguang, Shenzhen China to compete in the Annika Invitational at Mission Hills Golf Club.

Mission Hills and ANNIKA Foundation created the ANNIKA Invitational at Mission Hills in 2011. Since that time, it has crowned 8 champions. The players will play a total of 54 holes on the Annika Course, which counts for the R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking. They will also get to meet Annika Sorenstam herself in a golf clinic held after the second round of the competition.

This year’s field features a total of 127 players who are competing in three age categories (Girl’s 13-18, 10-12 and 8-9). Shayne and Shang Yu will be competing in the Girls 13-18 category. The Overall Winner in this all-girls event gets an invite to play in the EFG Hong Kong Ladies Open in May. The top three winners (regardless of age and divisions) will get an invitation to the AJGA tournament – ANNIKA Invitational in the United States.

Practice Round starts today 26 February. We wish Shayne and Shang Yu all the best in this competition. Stay tuned for first round draw list and results.
