A night to remember at ICL prize presentation dinner

September 6: Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) was crowned the 2023 SGA Inter-Club League (ICL) champion at the prize presentation dinner held at the grand ballroom of SICC on Wednesday evening.

It was also a joyous evening of fun and entertainment as participants celebrated their friendship while invited guests had the privilege of joining in the fun and revelry.

Warren Golf and Country Club emerged as the first runner-up while Seletar Country Club was the second runner-up in the Championship bracket.


SICC crowned champions in 2023 SGA Inter-club league

The 2023 SGA Inter-Club League (ICL) reached its conclusion with Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) crowned champions after they defeated Warren Golf and Country Club (WGCC) 9-5 in a thrilling matchplay battle held at Keppel Club on Sunday.

Seletar Country Club took down Tanah Merah Country Club (TMCC) 8.5-5.5 to clinch third place in the Championship bracket while National Service Resort and Country Club (NSRCC) prevailed in a playoff over Sembawang Country Club to take fifth place in the plate championship after they ended regulation play at 7-7.

Keppel Club, meanwhile, outplayed Sentosa Golf Club 9-5 in their championship plate clash to secure seventh place.

The 2023 SGA (ICL) consisted of two phases. In phase one, six legs were played using a Gross Stableford format with division rankings decided upon the completion of the phase.

The top eight teams after phase one then proceeded to a knockout Matchplay format in phase two where the ICL Championship Bracket Teams saw teams, who finished in first to fourth position after phase one pitting against each other. The Plate Championship Bracket saw teams who finished in fifth to eighth positions after phase one taking on each other.

ICL heads for enthralling finals

The SGA Inter-Club League (ICL) semifinals were held yesterday where The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) along with Warren Golf and Country Club (WGCC) booked their spots in the final of the championship bracket, while National Service Resort and Country Club (NSRCC) and Sembawang Country Club (SCC) progressed into the final of the plate bracket after emerging triumphant in an exciting knockout matchplay battle.

In the championship bracket, SICC ran out convincing winners over Seletar Country Club with a 12-2 victory at the Sentosa Golf Club while WGCC prevailed in a tight 7.5-6.5 contest over Tanah Merah Country Club held at Sembawang Country Club.

Over at Seletar Country Club, NSRCC triumphed Keppel Country Club 11.5-2.5 in the plate bracket. Sembawang Country Club, meanwhile, defeated Sentosa Golf Club 8-6, also in the plate bracket.

The finals of the ICL will be held across four venues on July 30.
Championship bracket:
Final: SICC vs WGCC at Keppel Club
3rd/4th placing: SEL vs TMCC at NSRCC (Kranji)

Plate Championship:
Final (5th/6th placing): NSRCC vs SEM at WGCC
7th/8th placing: KEP vs SGC at SICC (Island)

For teams that finish outside the top eight in phase one, their phase one rankings will be their final team positions for the 2023 ICL.

A knockout matchplay format will be played in phase two with the ICL Championship Bracket Teams who finished in first to fourth position after phase one battling it out. The Plate Championship Bracket will see teams who finished in fifth to eight positions after phase one taking on each other.
